Welcome and thanks for visiting Doctor’s Bag.
My name is Edwin Kruys. I live in the hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and I work as a specialist general practitioner in a rural practice and in the local hospital.
I’m a fan of initiatives that bring people, groups and organisations in healthcare closer together. The influence of vested interests and the political ebb and flow is often not in the best interest of Australians in need of care. We need a stronger focus on care closer to home and improved interconnectedness.
Despite all these challenges, as a GP I enjoy the variety of my work and the interaction, and often long-term relationships with people. I have an interest in mental health. When I’m not working I spend time with my wife and my three children.
I hope you will enjoy this blog. Please say G’day or leave a comment, but don’t spend too much time online… it probably doesn’t make you happier.
